Double-sided tape across the whole side of the servo withthe backing left on works perfectly because it stops vibrations and the backingpaper is a great thermal insulator(see below). Fabric, felt or some card also works well. Heat - isanother killer of servos. With the super high power 7.4 volt servos used now,the servo itself can generate a lot of heat, especially on the throttle servo,especially if you don't have your end-points set properly. Make sure you arenot overloading the servo, because if it’s stalling almost all of the time (onfull throttle and full brakes) because you have not set your end points, thenit’s going to pull lots of current and will over-heat rapidly. 高熱: 同樣於舵机無益. 現今越見流行的 7.4V 高壓舵机本身已會發熱, 特別是油门舵机, 在EPA (舵机擺动的最終点) 调整不當的情况下, 熱量更高. 請緊記不要不正常地加重舵机的付苛, 例如長期在油门全开及制动全开的情况下配上不適當的舵机行程, 另舵机長期受壓, 此舉会加大舵机的电流需求令舵机急速發熱. Heat soak- the biggest possible problem is with alloy cased servos directly against theradio-tray/chassis, but if you use the double tape, fabric, felt or card (asnoted above) to cut-out vibrations then this problem is gone. As our servo islying down we don't get much radiated heat from the engine as it’s down by theengine mount, away from the combustionchamber. If you are running in super-hot conditions then it’s worthputting heat-reflective tape across the back of the servo and being careful howlong you leave the car running on the starter box without any airflow. By theway, heat-shield tape normally has glass -fibre backing.
