Team Orion’s Wasp REV is finally ready to ship. In preparation, the first production engines were torn down and inspected to make sure all parts were within the specified tolerances and that the quality of the parts and assembly was top notch. All engines passed with flying colors! Next several samples were installed in vehicles and run according to the included directions. After priming, all fired immediately using the needle setting supplied with the engine. Just in time for a race meeting, a Wasp REV was used to win a Kyosho Cup round in Switzerland by two laps! Dyno testing followed. Team Orion user the Nitrodyne Systems X-Dyno, which has become the industry standard because of its precision operation and real live power and torque calculations that are automatically adjusted based on atmospheric conditions for realistic comparisons of engines tested in all conditions. After the two-tank break on process, the Wasp REV recorded better horsepower ratings that any engine, stock or modified, listed in the Nitrodyne Systems database! Peak horsepower was impressive, but even more so was the power curve. Excellent horsepower over a broad RPM range means more usable power for the driver. Team Orion expects to ship the first Wasp REV engines on may 18 and 19. If you have not pre-ordered yours, do it now for delivery from this first production.
